20 more posts till the 20-year reunion

Here's the dealio. My goal is to write 20 more blogs as a countdown to our reunion that takes place September 26. Here's the first one. Ready? OK!

I don't know about you, but I am losing a little sleep over our upcoming 20-year reunion. It's not because I have much to do with the planning...no, I just get to do the fun stuff, like run the Facebook group, send those annoying emails you keep getting and write this blog. I think I'm losing sleep because I'm feeling excitement and anxiety all at the same time. Kind of like the feelings I used to have a couple of days before the first day of school. Can you relate? Or was I really this big of a dork in high school too?

On one hand, I'm excited to go back to that time with you all, when we were young and free. I can't wait to dance with my girlfriends and laugh till it hurts. I look forward to rekindle friendships with old friends as well as discover new friendships with classmates I never knew at all. But then I wonder, will it actually be like that? Or will it be weird? Are my expectations all wrong?

I guess whatever happens is what happens. I really hope it will be more than just a night of partying and sticking with the same groups we hung out with in high school, as if that's all we're good for. I really think we're so much more than that. Some are flying in from other countries to come to our reunion. While others, who still live in Rochester, aren't even showing up.

As of now, there isn't a high tech program or impressive speeches to entertain....we've got a swanky venue, some food and some beverages. Oh, and a DJ, who promises to play all 80s all the time. Somehow I'm ending up with the roll of M.C...gulp. Thanks to Andy Newberg who has an impossible scheduling conflict and can't be there to..well, be Andy Newberg. Most of you probably have no clue who I am anyway, so I've got that going for me.

And now...thinking about the next 19 blog posts, I plan to chat with a few of you, find out what you're up to and feature you in upcoming posts. Hopefully, that will help get the party started.

I hope to see you there!
