Matt Moscato Charity Golf Outing

The Second Annual Matt Moscato Charity Golf Outing takes place Friday afternoon, September 25 - the day before our Rochester High School 20-year reunion. The golf outing honors the late Matt Moscato and raises funds for person in need. The Thomas Richards Charity, named after Matt's own women's clothing line, is the sponsor for the annual event.

This year proceeds will go to Cameron Wasiluk, the cousin of RHS 1989 graduate Chris Orlandi.

Here's the story of Cameron told by his mother Julia:

"Three years ago, our lives were drastically changed. Our five-year old boy, Cameron, suddenly fell into a coma. A virus had somehow gotten to his brain and caused encephalitis, which is swelling of the brain. He spent two months in a coma while the doctors tried to get his seizures under control. He spent the next two months in the rehab wing, where he had to learn to hold his head up and sit up again. Right as we were being discharged, he lapsed into constant seizures. He returned to the intensive care unit and was on life support as the seizures came more and more frequently. Finally, the doctors performed brain surgery to remove the area that was causing most of the seizures. Cameron is home with us now. He still is unable to talk or eat. He is fed through a g-tube and has to take many medications. He is cortically blind, but we've recently learned he can see in spots, like swiss cheese. He loves to hold hands and move about on his feet, or cuddle up in his favorite big chair. He loves to be in warm water, and often tries to prolong his bath time by making his body heavy and hard to lift. He has seizures several times a week and must be watched around the clock. Despite all that he has been through, Cameron remains a sweet little boy. It is amazing to see him trying so hard and remain so loving."

This family could use a handicap bathroom so Cameron and his family can enjoy those long baths.

There is room for 144 players so stay tuned for more details and visit the Thomas Richards Facebook page for more information. You can also find our more info on the Facebook event page.
